M2C partnered with National Board Network of Accomplished Minoritized Educators (NAME), a network of NBCTs of color, to provide tailored support to Teachers of Color (ToCs) as they progressed through the candidacy process.
Work completed: Breathing and meditation sessions, BoK discussion of core tenets within the context of communities and teachers of color, virtual coaching, writing retreats and workshops, and community-building spaces.
The American Institutes for Research® (AIR) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that conducts behavioral and social science research and delivers technical assistance to solve some of the most urgent challenges in the U.S. and around the world.
Work completed: Conducted a quasi-experimental design (QED) study to examine the effect of M2C on teacher and student outcomes. Impact evaluation answered four research questions:

- What is the impact of M2C on the classroom practices of TOCs?
- What is the impact of M2C on the retention of TOCs in the teaching profession and high-need schools?
- What is the impact of M2C on students’ perceptions of social and emotional competencies and the learning environment, including inclusivity and safety?
- What is the impact of M2C on student achievement in mathematics and English language arts (ELA) in Grades 4 and 5?
